Amazon or no?
Hmmm. Should I sell my book on Amazon? They take out a lot of fees. About time I pay for everything, I would lose about 40% or more, especially if sells are low. However, if sells go through the roof, then maybe it might be worth it. Ugh. If I don’t do anything, I will never know. Hmmm. What should I do?
Do you learn more from fiction or nonfiction?
I am sure it is a personal choice. It may come down to the amount of education you need about the topic. Given the society you live in, how much of your education stems from fiction?
Are you organized?
Some people do not realize the power of organization. How could this work better for you when it comes to your business, your studies, your personal life? Life is stressful enough. Being organized will help you to be more prepared and confident when it comes to those stressful moments in life.
Peace of Mind! Who knows how you have organized your madness? If you are the only one who knows about your organizational style, how does that help you to relax when you need someone to help you? Who can you trust to help you if that time ever comes? Let someone know where to go and what to do if you need help. They will not know what to do if you are not organized.

New Business Words to the Wise
As our world and the people in it change, businesses have to be prepared to keep up with those shifts. I have always thought it was interesting that a business is called an “entity,” like it is alive. Now, after opening and closing different business ventures over the years, I finally see why and how a business can be thought of as an “entity.”
Just like people change, grow, and age, a business can go through these same experiences. To have a successful business, you have to think about sustainability. How will your business stand through the test of time? What are you doing to keep up with the changes in the world? How do you now plan to grow your business when everything you used to do is no longer “in style” or the norm? These thoughts become even more difficult as a sole proprietor in an LLC. There is no one to push you to modify your thinking about your business’ growth.
Given this, I have two pieces of wisdom for new business owners:
- Give your business a name that will not limit your gifts and talents. It needs to be broad as possible. As you grow and mature, what you have always wanted to do swings back around to your most greatest desires.
- Find support with like-minded businesses on the same business level as yourself. So many times I try to talk to other business owners, and they are so different from me that I learn absolutely nothing. They are extremely successful, I am still trying to find success. They have their circle of friends and connections; I am solo. This is why I never saw the purpose of meeting with other business owners in “meet and greet” activities. It reminded me of having to be in the “in crowd” to be able to really make connections. So, I would say the opposite of what I have heard for years about finding a business that is successful to be your mentor. Network with business owners on your level with your same motivation to succeed.
